Damien first started piping in 1998 with the Tara Pipes and Drums of Massapequa under the instruction of Frank Riggio. He joined American Celtic Pipe Band in 2002.

A front row piper, Damien has established himself as one of the premier pipers in the band. He plays a set of David Naill bagpipes.

Damien lives in New Hyde Park with his family. His son, Damien Murray Jr, is a drummer with the band. Damien also coaches soccer and is a huge A.C. Milan football fan.
