Doris began piping at
the ripe old age of 37, and it has been three long years
of hard work and determination. She learned through
the American Celtic organization in 2005 under the tutelage
of Scott Gajdos. She was inspired from the beautiful
sound of the pipes at a September 11 funeral. From then
on, she began the long, long journey toward playing.
She plays a set of War-Mac pipes acquired from her instructor.
She was hoping that they would be lucky, but it seems
that Scott took his luck with him onto his brand new
set of pipes!
Doris lives in Wantagh with her husband Keith and three
great kids, Timothy, Matthew and Holly. Her favorite
tune is Highland Cathederal. Her favorite memory with
the band was passing out at a Babylon assembly and taking
the flag down with her.
