Instructors

PIPING

Piping instructor Scott Gajdos began playing bagpipes at the age of 16. Initially taught by Frank Riggio, he joined the Tara Pipes and Drums of Massapequa in 2000. While at Tara, he received instruction from James Ryan, former Pipe Major of the American Celtic Pipe Band. Scott went on to play with the Monaghan Pipe Band of New York City in 2002.

Scott has won numerous piping awards and scholarships throughout the United States and Canada. In 2003, Scott won the overall season standings in Grade 3 and was declared "Champion Supreme" by the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association. He now competes in Grade 1 solos.

Scott is currently a student of Pipe Major George M. Bell of New Jersey. In addition, he has also received tutelage from Jack Lee, Alasdair Gillies and Andrew Wright. His favorite pipe band is Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band of Northern Ireland. A few of his favorite composers include Donald MacLeod, Mark Saul and Ryan Canning. Scott plays a set of 1980 War-Mac Bagpipes.

DRUMMING

Drumming Instructor Bob Mulligan is an accomplished Grade I soloist and currently plays with the Saffron United Pipe Band.
