July 19, 2005 - Warming up for Hunter at the Rockland Feis

This past weekend's Rockland Feis proved to be a good warm-up for the Hunter Mountain contest in August. Though the band was unable to qualify with only one side drummer, we were able to perform for the judges to get comments on our play. Read more about this competition on our Round Table page.

July 5, 2005 - Victory at Round Hill!

In our first contest of the year, the American Celtic Pipe Band came away with first place at the Round Hill Highland Games in Norwalk, CT on July 2. Read more about this competition on our Round Table page.

June 13, 2005 - New snare drummer rejoins the corps

Chris Ryan has recently rejoined the American Celtic Pipe Band. Chris was a snare drummer with the band back in the 80s and early 90s, and rejoins the group for the 2005 contest season. Welcome back Chris! We look forward to having you with us this year.

March 24, 2005 - New drum sergeant named

Tim Delaney has been named Drum Sergeant for the American Celtic Pipe Band, taking over for Lucille Widener. Lucille has filled this role admirably over the past 15+ years. The group looks forward to leaning on Tim for leadership and talent development in the drum corps. You can learn more about Tim on our Practice Information page.

March 18, 2005 - NYC parade featured a visitor from overseas

John "Stormy" Winters, formerly of Strathclyde Police Pipe Band, joined us in our march down 5th Avenue at the 2005 New York City St. Patrick's Day parade. The band was honored to have Stormy in our ranks, and we hope we can count on his participation again in the future.

March 2, 2005 - New piping instructor brought on board

Scott Gajdos has been brought aboard as the primary piping instructor for the group. Scott will manage the development of our piping students as well as that of our experienced pipe corps. The addition of Scott will bring the band back into the competitive arena in 2005. You can learn more about Scott on our Practice Information page. This role had previously been filled by Frank Riggio, on and off, for roughly 20 years. Frank's leadership and guidance will be missed as we move in this new direction.
